Gearin' Up for the 12th Annual Festival Gourmet International Vallarta
Famous for the wide variety of sensational cuisines found in its many restaurants, Puerto Vallarta Mexico offers visitors a culinary smorgasbord. Especially during the month of November, when visitors from around the world come to enjoy the extraordinary culinary delights served during the annual Festival Gourmet International Vallarta.
From its modest beginnings in 1995, with just six participating restaurants and 12 guest chefs, today the Puerto Vallarta Gourmet Festival has become an increasingly prominent event in the gastronomic world.
In 2005, the International Festival Gourmet Vallarta celebrated it's eleventh season, showcasing the culinary talents of some of the world's finest chefs. A record 27 Puerto Vallarta restaurants participated in the 10-day event, not to mention over 35,000 attendees.
This year, from November 9-19, 2006, the Festival Gourmet Vallarta celebrates its twelfth anniversary by offering lovers of food and wine the opportunity to sample a spicy blend of culinary talents at 24 of the finest restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay.
But the best part of this 10-day event is that each participating restaurant hosts a guest master chef to create a festival all of its own - and that means 24 unique opportunities to savor inspired world-class menus!
Other events designed to showcase a world of tastes and flavors include: Chef's Table and Winemaker Dinners hosted by some of the finest restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, the ever-popular Festival Gourmet Brunch, wine tasting and cooking classes, and the traditional Gala Dinner that concludes the festivities each year.
